
Missy Khan
Missy is licensed to practice law in Texas and in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Texas. She completed a joint degree program, earning her M.A. in Medical Humanities from the University of Texas Medical Branch and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center in 2003. She then joined one of Houston’s leading medical malpractice firms where she defended hundreds of physicians throughout southeast Texas. She has participated in all aspects of health care liability defense and has participated in multiple jury trials. She has also defended physicians, nurses, and pharmacists in peer review matters before the Texas Medical Board, Texas Board of Nursing Board, Texas State Board of Pharmacy, and hospital peer review committees. Missy joined Cooksey Marcin, PLLC in 2021.
Missy currently serves on the Houston Bar Association Health Law Section Council and the State Bar of Texas Law Practice Management Committee. She has previously served on the State Bar CLE Committee. She has also made presentations to these groups and to the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting.
Missy lives in Cypress, Texas, with her twin daughters. She serves on a school PTO committee, the board of the Northwest Houston Mothers of Multiples and the board of the Texas Mothers of Multiples.
