Attorney Profile
Before attending law school, April was a senior litigation paralegal for a firm in Corpus Christi, Texas, that focused on employment law and civil rights defense. In law school, she served on the Editorial Board of the St. Mary’s Law Journal and the Comment she wrote as a Staff Writer was published in the Journal. Since then, April has devoted her legal career practicing in the areas of healthcare law and medical malpractice defense. She has represented physicians, nurses, hospitals, and nursing homes across the State, advising her clients on pre-litigation issues all the way to providing them with a vigorous defense at trial. She also represents physicians and nurses in matters brought before the Texas Medical Board and the Texas Board of Nursing. April has educated physicians and healthcare providers on significant healthcare issues by speaking at continuing education seminars. April also has defended clients in premises liability, trusts, commercial, and contract matters. April was recognized in San Antonio Scene as a “Rising Star Lawyer” in 2018.
April served on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of San Antonio (2019-2021). She has volunteered countless hours to other various charitable organizations, such as Transplants for Children, Eva’s Heroes, Snack Paks for Kids, and Dress for Success, and has co-chaired and served on numerous committees. April has also provided pro bono legal services to the indigent through the Bexar County Community Justice Program. April also enjoys live music and visiting the Coast.
